Week of Oct 19 – Oct 25, 2026

Work Completed Last Week

All crews remobilized after the RFI responses: night crews advanced the F Street 16-inch main at the F & Inyo intersection, built the new sewer manhole at Merced & Fulton, and saw cut and installed 24-inch main on H Street. Day crews progressed the Fulton Street water main from Calaveras to Stanislaus and completed bypass tie-in preparation at H & Inyo.

NIGHT WORK (Sunday–Thursday nights, October 25–29, 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM): • F Street at Kern Street — removal of the existing asbestos-cement sewer pipe under the required handling and safety procedures, and installation of new sewer pipe with manhole backfill (Crew 1). • Fulton Street — sewer manhole and 12-inch main continue (Crew 3). DAY WORK (Monday–Friday, October 26–30, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM): • H Street — 24-inch main from Mariposa Street to Tulare Street (Crew 2) and at the H & Merced intersection (Crew 4).

Important Notices

H Street remains CLOSED to through traffic between Mariposa and Fresno Streets — please follow the posted detour; local and business access is maintained. Night work runs Sunday–Thursday nights at three locations this week (F Street, Fulton Street, and H & Tulare), 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM. Metered parking bags on Tulare, H, Fulton, and Stanislaus Streets are current, and all traffic control plans are approved.

Schedule Changes

The Tulare Street water main (Fulton to Van Ness) has been pushed back again and is on hold — new dates will be posted once confirmed. The bypass installation at H & Inyo is also postponed. H Street work is at the H & Tulare intersection on nights this week, then switches to day shift next week for the Mariposa-to-Tulare segment and the H & Merced intersection. After finishing the F Street water main at Kern this week, the night crew moves to sewer work at F & Kern. The F Street segment from Fresno to Mariposa remains pending City approval.

Week of Oct 12 – Oct 18, 2026

Work Completed Last Week

The water main connection at the Calaveras & H intersection was completed and the H Street 24-inch main advanced inside the road closure. RFI responses were received from the City, allowing all crews to remobilize this week.

Five crews are working this week. NIGHT WORK (Sunday–Thursday nights, 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM): • F Street — 16-inch water main at the F & Inyo intersection (Crew 1). • Fulton Street — new sewer manhole at Merced & Fulton and 12-inch sewer main toward Tuolumne (Crew 3). • H Street — saw cutting at H & Tulare and 24-inch main from Tulare to Mariposa (Crew 4). DAY WORK (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM): • Fulton Street — 16-inch water main, Calaveras to Stanislaus (Crew 2). • H & Inyo intersection — potholing and bypass tie-in preparation (Crew 5).

This is a heavy night-work period: three locations Sunday–Thursday nights this week and four next week, 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM. H Street remains CLOSED to through traffic between Mariposa and Fresno Streets — follow the posted detour; local access is maintained. PROJECT PROGRESS TO DATE: 16-inch water main 2,204 of 7,704 ft; 24-inch water main 717 of 4,406 ft; 10-inch sewer 580 of 2,489 ft; 12-inch sewer 746 of 877 ft; new manholes 2 of 8 (3 of 12 coated); fire hydrants 4 of 20.

Schedule Changes

RFI responses have been received and all paused work has resumed: the F Street water main (now at the Inyo intersection), the Fulton Street water main, and the Fulton Street sewer. The Tulare Street water main (Fulton to Van Ness) resumes the week of October 19 with new Crew 6 — RFI 98 is resolved. H Street work has shifted to night shift, and new bypass work begins at the H & Inyo intersection.

Work Completed Last Week

Night crews advanced the F Street water main from Mono Street toward Inyo Street and the Fulton Street water main work at the Merced intersection. Day crews progressed the Fulton Street water main segments and the H Street 24-inch main.

Work Happening This Week

Crew activity is reduced this week while RFI responses from the City are pending — Crews 3 and 4 are not working. There is NO NIGHT WORK this week. DAY WORK (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM): • H Street — 24-inch water main within the FULL ROAD CLOSURE between Mariposa Street and Fresno Street (through traffic detoured; local access maintained). • Calaveras Street & H Street — water main connection work at the intersection.

Work Planned Next Week

H Street and the Calaveras & H intersection work are expected to continue on day shift. Crews will return to F Street at Inyo Street once the pending RFI response is received. Updated schedules will be posted as RFI responses come in.

Important Notices

ROAD CLOSURE: H Street is closed to through traffic between Mariposa Street and Fresno Street during the water main installation — please follow the posted detour; local and business access is maintained per the approved traffic control plan. There is no night work scheduled this week.

Schedule Changes

Work on Fulton Street (the water main segments and the night work at the Merced intersection) and Tulare Street is delayed pending RFI responses from the City. The F Street water main (Mono to Inyo) is paused pending an RFI response — Crew 1 will return there once it is resolved. New dates will be posted as responses are received.

Work Completed Last Week

Night crews advanced the Tulare Street water main from Fulton Street toward Van Ness Avenue before that work was placed on hold pending a design clarification (RFI 98). Crews also advanced the F Street water main from Mono toward Inyo, the H Street 24-inch main, and the Fulton Street water main segments.

MILESTONE: the F Street sewer scope is complete — new 12-inch sewer main from Mono to Tulare, new 48-inch manholes, 18-inch storm drain, and backfill at F & Kern are all finished. Crews also advanced the F Street water main from Mono toward Inyo, the H Street 24-inch main, and the Fulton Street water main segments.

Work Completed Last Week

Night crews finished installing the 12-inch sewer main on F Street from Kern Street to Tulare Street and advanced the Tulare Street water main north of Fulton. Day crews progressed the Calaveras Street final segment and the Fulton Street water main from Calaveras toward Stanislaus.

Two scopes of work have been pushed back to a later date: the Tulare Street water main north of Fulton (Fulton to Van Ness) and the Fulton Street sewer work between Merced and Tuolumne, including the Fulton & Tuolumne intersection. New dates will be posted once confirmed. The F Street 16-inch water main is back on the schedule — the Mono & F intersection Thursday night, then Mono to Inyo starting September 14.

Night crews completed the 18-inch storm drain and 48-inch manhole at F Street & Kern Street, advanced the Tulare Street water main from Federal Alley toward Van Ness Avenue, and progressed the new 48-inch manhole and 10-inch sewer main on Fulton Street at Merced.

The Fulton Street water main (Calaveras to Stanislaus) is back on the schedule starting Monday, August 31. Calaveras Street returns for its final segment (Congo Alley to Fulton). Fulton Street sewer work pauses this week and resumes Sunday night, September 6 at the Fulton & Tuolumne intersection. Crews move to H Street (24-inch main, Mariposa to Merced) on Tuesday, September 8.

Work Completed Last Week

Day crews wrapped up two major segments: the Tulare Street 16-inch water main is complete from H Street to Fulton Street, and the Calaveras Street 16-inch main is complete from H Street to Fulton Street. Initial installation of the F Street water main (Ventura to Mono) was completed Thursday and Friday, and night crews continued the storm drain and 48-inch manhole at F Street & Kern Street.

Schedule Changes

All crews shifted from day work to night work. The Tulare Street night segments were resequenced: Federal Alley to Van Ness first (this week), then the Fulton intersection to Federal Alley (next week). The F Street water main (Ventura to Mono) is on hold after initial installation — remaining dates will be posted once confirmed. Additional sewer potholing between Broadway and Tuolumne is on standby pending traffic-control approval.

The Tulare Street 16-inch water main was completed from Broadway Street to Homerun Alley, the Calaveras Street main advanced from Broadway toward Fulton, night construction of the 48-inch manhole at F Street & Kern Street progressed, and night potholing at the Tuolumne & Merced and Fulton & Tuolumne intersections was completed.

Crews move from Tulare Street to F Street on Thursday, August 20 — the previously postponed F Street water main (Ventura to Mono) begins Thursday. All crews shift to night work the week of August 24. The G & Kern and Tuolumne & Van Ness potholing operations and the Fulton Street (Calaveras to Stanislaus) and G & Inyo listings have been removed from the schedule. A revised schedule for all crews will be posted Friday.

The Tulare Street 16-inch water main advanced from Broadway Street toward Homerun Alley, the Calaveras Street 16-inch main was completed from H Street to Broadway, and night construction of the new 48-inch sewer manhole at F Street & Kern Street made good progress.

The F Street sewer crew finished installing the 12-inch sewer main from Mono Street to Inyo Street with the new manhole at F & Inyo. The Calaveras Street 16-inch water main advanced from H Street toward Broadway, and the Tulare Street water main progressed toward Homerun Alley.

The F Street sewer crew advanced the 12-inch main from Mono Street, Tulare Street's 24-inch water main progressed from H Street, and utility locating on Calaveras Street wrapped up.

F Street sewer: next week is night construction of the manhole at F & Kern (the Inyo-to-Kern pipe run will follow). Calaveras Street runs H Street to Broadway through both weeks. Fulton Street water main (Calaveras to Stanislaus) starts August 3.

Work Completed Last Week

F Street water main: completed the 16-inch main from Inyo Street to Kern Street and advanced the Kern-to-Tulare segment. F Street sewer: finished the new manhole at Mariposa & F and began CTV camera testing of the new sewer main.

Work Happening This Week

Four crews are working downtown this week: • F Street (sewer) — 12-inch sewer main from Mono Street toward Kern Street, with a new manhole at F & Inyo. • G Street — 12-inch water main between Inyo and Kern. NIGHT WORK, 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM. • Tulare Street — 24-inch water main from H Street toward Federal Alley. • Calaveras Street — crews locating existing utilities ahead of new water main installation.

Night work on G Street (Inyo to Kern) runs Sunday night 7/19 through Friday morning 7/24, 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM. Expect nighttime lane closures, work lighting, and construction noise in that block. Day crews work Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Thank you for your patience.

Schedule Changes

Asphalt restoration on F Street (Ventura Street to Kern Street) is planned to begin in late July following sewer camera testing. Dates will be posted here once confirmed.
